Consultation meet on “Development of Continued Education Programs for TNFU Alumni”       (CEAL’2015)

Consultation Meet on “Development of Continued Education Programs for TNFU Alumni” (CEAL’2015) had been organised by the university on 01.08.2015 at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri. This initiative was based on the concept of imparting higher education to the needy alumni of the Department, farming and industrial sector.

The meeting began with the Invocation and Dr. S. Felix Dean i/c, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri welcomed the gathering. The Dean i/c also briefed on the concept of the meet and its importance and relevance in the current scenario.

Seventy Seven participants representing the university faculty, state fisheries department and the farming and industrial sector participated in the meet. Our Vice Chancellor Prof. Basakaran Manimaran Ph. D delivered the Inaugural address and briefed on the developing status of the university.

Dr.Arul Victor Suresh gave the felicitation address wherein he expressed his views on the importance of continuing education which formed a very integral part of professional education.

This was followed by our Vice Chancellor briefing on the necessity of honouring our alumni in the industry as ‘Farmer Adjunct Faculty’ for their role and cooperation rendered to the university whenever in need. This was conferred on Mr.Ranjith Manley, MIL Limited, Thoothukkudi and Mr.M.Sudhakaran, MD, Aqua Life System, Ongole, Andhra Pradesh. The meeting then continued with expertise delivering the talks.

This was followed by a very interactive discussion between alumni of TNFU, State Fisheries Department and the Industry. The meet concluded with the Vote of thanks by Dr. S. A. Shanmugam, Controller of Examinations, TNFU.
